What Really Happened To John McAfee?
Events of late have turned the public’s attention to no one else but John McAfee himself. His campaign manager took it to Twitter, revealing that McAfee was in the dark for a few days, suspecting that he and some other “companions” have been detained by authorities. Today, however, the founder of the software mogul McAfee Associates confirmed that he’s been released of confinement.
John McAfee Held in Custody?
A few days ago, the campaign manager for McAfee’s 2020 Presidential run, Rob Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Loggia-Ramirez, took it to Twitter from McAfee’s official account, revealing that he has reasons to believe that the presidential candidate and other “companions” have been detained by authorities as the last time he spoke with McAfee was when his famous “Freedom” boat was being boarded.

What followed was a thread of Twitter posts, detailing the overall situation. Now, it’s important to note that John officially stated that he’ll be exposing corrupted names in governments.
Back in June, he tweeted that he has “collected files on corruption in governments. For the first time, I’m naming names and specifics. I’ll begin with a corrupt CIA agent and two Bahamian officials. Coming today. If I’m arrested or disappear, 31+ terabytes of incriminating data will be released to the press.”
This brings us to a couple of days ago, following John’s detainment when Loggia mentioned the data in question.

On the following date, Loggia provided yet another update on the situation, saying that he has finally established contact with John, Janice, and his crew. He shared that their safe release is confirmed and that they are on their way to a new location as they’ve been forced to leave The Freedom Boat.
McAfee Confirms Confinement
A few hours ago, McAfee appeared to have taken back his own Twitter account and confirmed that he has spent four days in confinement.

No further information is available at the time of this writing and it remains unclear what the reason for their detention was.
However, McAfee has made his stance clear when it comes to him paying taxes. He has publicly confirmed, more than once to it, that he hasn’t filed tax returns in 8 years. Additionally, he has wagered war on the US Government, hence why he’s in exile.
This is also the reason for which the veteran entrepreneur is going to be leading his 2020 Presidential Campaign from a boat. We have yet to see how his plans will continue, given the latest developments.
