LeBron James and CryptoCom to Provide Crypto Education for Kids

The NBA star LeBron James partnered with CryptoCom to launch cryptocurrency educational programs for children. Approximately 1,600 pupils part of the sportsman’s “I Promise School” will get the chance to learn more about bitcoin and its underlying blockchain technology. The project might also extend to the student’s families in the future.

Crypto Subjects at School

In a recent interview, the living legend of The Los Angeles Lakers – LeBron James – praised the cryptocurrency industry as a rapidly growing niche that is “revolutionizing” every aspect of our lives. Having high hopes for it, the NBA star – known as “King James” – revealed that “I Promise School” – a public elementary school based in Ohio and supported by him – will start teaching children about digital assets and their merits:

“Blockchain technology is revolutionizing our economy, sports and entertainment, the art world, and how we engage with one another. I want to ensure that communities like the one I come from are not left behind.”

To launch the project, James collaborated with the digital asset platform CryptoCom. “I’m looking forward to working with them to bring these opportunities to my community,” he stated.

The school programs and training opportunities will also extend to students’ families. With this approach, the basketball star aims to build more educated and stable families in Akron, where he grew up.

James did not disclose the exact terms of the deal but revealed that the partnership will run for multiple years.

With its nearly 10 million customers, CryptoCom is one of the leading digital asset exchanges. Not long ago, the firm took over the naming rights of the basketball arena in Los Angeles, where “King James” plays for the LA Lakers. Following the $700 million deal, the home of the team – the Staples Center – was renamed to CryptoCom Arena.

New York’s Mayor Has a Similar Idea

In November last year, the newly-elected mayor of New York City and a prominent bitcoin bull – Eric Adams – described digital assets as a “new way for paying for goods and services throughout the entire globe.” Being so valuable, he argued that children should study blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies at schools:

“We must open our schools to teach the technology, to teach this new way of thinking when it comes down to paying for goods and services.”

Upon his election, he vowed to transform the Big Apple into a cryptocurrency hub and even receive his next salaries in BTC instead of American dollars. He kept his promise earlier this month when he got his first paycheck converted to Bitcoin and Ether.
