BitGo Still Has Acquisitions Pending After Canceling Prime Trust Purchase
Cryptocurrency custody firm BitGo still has acquisitions in the pipeline after abandoning its takeover of rival Prime Trust, CEO Mike Belshe told CoinDesk TV’s First Mover on Monday.
BitGo terminated the acquisition of Prime Trust on June 23 amid speculation of the target’s bankruptcy. News spread Prime Trust was halting deposits and withdrawals by order of the Nevada Financial Institution Division.
“We’ve got [other acquisitions] pending,” Belshe said. “I haven’t been able to announce them yet but I think there’s going to be consolidation in the space over the next six months.”
