Binance Relaunches Its iOS App
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced that its iOS app is now live.
Binance’s app first appeared on the App Store in October 2018, but it was summarily taken off in May 2019. In a blog post published on August 19, 2019, the exchange revealed that the Binance iOS app (V1.7.1) is now one again live on the Apple App Store.
The relaunch follows a sequence of reviews — a process which Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao describes as more challenging than getting listed on the exchange’s trading platform.
The news of the app’s launch comes soon after Binance announced Venus, a blockchain-based stablecoin project for developing localized stablecoins.
“We believe that in the near and long term, stablecoins will progressively replace traditional fiat currencies in countries around the world, and bring a new and balanced standard of the digital economy,” Binance co-founder He Yi said, per CoinDesk.
Binance currently has two stablecoins: the bitcoin-pegged BTCB and BGBP (pegged to the pound sterling). With venus, the exchange will leverage its experience with stablecoins, as well as the strength of its internal infrastructure and compliance standards to enhance stablecoin development around the world.
