Binance Becomes The New Global Sponsor of Argentina’s National Soccer Team

The world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange by market volume – Binance – inked a deal with the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

Following the collaboration, the former will be the new Global Main Sponsor of Argentina’s national soccer team and the Naming Sponsor of the Professional Soccer League. Binance will also develop a new Fan Token that will be presented on the market shortly.

Binance and Argentina Shake Hands

The agreement will last for the next five years. It is considered a significant milestone for Binance since the trading venue has never partnered with a national soccer team before. Furthermore, the collaboration is with a renowned club that has won the World Cup twice in its history and will attempt to step on the throne once again in December this year.

Claudio Tapia – President of the Argentine Football Association – said this collaboration “meets all the conditions we are looking for.” He praised Binance as a leading global brand in its field that has an innovative vision.

“We are very happy with the incorporation of Binance as a commercial partner of AFA. An alliance that is undoubtedly strategic and will generate excellent results for both parties,” the exec concluded.

For his part, Maximiliano Hinz – Director of Binance Latin America – argued that the cryptocurrency niche is highly attractive to the soccer fans in Argentina. With that said, “it makes sense” for the company to team up with the AFA, he explained.

The national team of Argentina has one of the most passionate fan bases. As such, the alliance with Binance is intended to bring closer “millions of fans around the world who will be able to acquire new AFA digital assets,” Leandro Petersen – Commercial and Marketing Manager of the Association – predicted.

Bybit Also Partnered with Argentina

This is not the first time Argentina’s national team partnered with a cryptocurrency platform, as in November last year, it shook hands with Bybit. According to the terms of the agreement, Lionel (Leo) Messi – the captain of the club – and his teammates will wear the company’s logo on their training apparel until November 2023.

Back then, Ben Zhou – CEO of Bybit – noted that Argentina’s soccer team has “unrelenting passion and boundless creativity“ – qualities that his firm would like to champion and celebrate:

“Working with the AFA is one of the easiest decisions we have ever made. Bybit will encourage Argentina in the coming years.”
