100 Million Milestone Achieved for ETH Non-Zero Addresses

Blockchain data and intelligence provider Glassnode estimated that the number of Ethereum addresses holding even the smallest fraction of ETH (wei) had reached an all-time high of 104,076,868.

As CryptoPotato recently reported, Bitcoin non-zero addresses have also experienced a substantial rise, tapping an ATH of almost 48 million at the end of July.

  • Despite ether’s recent consolidation at approximately $1,830, the number of Ethereum non-zero addresses has rapidly increased in the past few months, surpassing the milestone of 100 million.

  • Those addresses were approximately 20 million in 2019 and around 50 million at the start of 2021 (a few months before the bull market, which saw ether reaching an all-time high price of almost $4,900 (per CoinGecko’s data).
  • Separately, the crypto data provider revealed that Ethereum’s amount of supply last active between seven and ten years ago hit an ATH of over 4.3 million ETH. The current circulating supply of the cryptocurrency is around 120 million.
  • Glassnode estimated earlier this week that 5.67M BTC have stayed dormant since 2017 or a longer time ago. The total amount of the leading digital asset equals 19.45 million, meaning the aforementioned percent supply climbed to a peak of almost 30%.
